Situated overlooking the greenery of central Tokyo’s Midtown complex, Cuisine Francaise JJ offers Tokyo diners the very best of traditional French cuisine – with the occasional Japanese twist and modern touch.
The resident chef, Joel Bruant, was born in Lyon, the gastronomic capital of France, but has been working in Tokyo since 1972 so is confidently able to offer French dishes using the finest Japanese produce and with a uniquely Japanese twist when appropriate. Joel himself is in the kitchen most days of the year working with his Japanese team of chefs to provide a truly authentic French dining experience.

The restaurant itself was designed to complement all that is wonderful about Japanese and French design; the high ceilings, enormous modern mirrors, and floor-to-ceiling windows offering a rooftop view are distinctly Paris. The fashionable lighting and furnishings and the wide terrace that allows a glimpse of the modern glass and concrete that characterize much of the Tokyo skyline are classic Tokyo – and a visit in spring during the cherry blossom season means a seat at a table offering simply one of the best views in town of this very Japanese spectacle. The result is a dining experience that is elegant yet relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable.
